Co-Founder of The Healing Gardens
Sujata Shah experienced the healing of Ayurveda first-hand during a stressful period of her life after Allopathic medicine practitioners told her there was no cure for her allergies and the side effects related to the medicine they prescribed for her. Ayurveda returned her body to balance and health and she found no need to use pharmaceuticals. Since then she has facilitated many opportunities to bring an understanding of the Ayurvedic lifestyle to the Southern California area. Her Certification in Business Administration at Hendon Polytechnic, England combined with the experience of owning her own travel tour business, Safari Tours, Inc. and managing the American Express Travel Branch office in Laguna Nigel, California, gave Sujata the understanding of business operations that allowed her to open the doors of The Healing Gardens of Ayurveda in January of 2005.
Sujata received her formal education in Ayurveda studies from American Vedic Studies and obtained certification in Ayurveda. She then spent significant time in Pune and Kerala, India, studying and assisting various Ayurvedic Doctors, including Dr. Subash Ranade who is one of the foremost Eastern experts in Ayurveda, in their respective clinics and Panchakarma centers. Because she was raised with the principles of Ayurvedic living, an intimate understanding of Ayurveda permeates her interactions with her clients. Sujata has recently begun teaching Ayurvedic cooking classes. These classes, which combine cooking techniques and the theory of Ayurveda, are another way in which she is reaching out to people in southern California who are interested in learning how to incorporate Ayurveda into their everyday life. Sujata is currently pursuing further studies in Nutritional Consultant program with the Global College of Natural Medicine.
